Montana Historical Society – Montanans at Work

The Montana Historical Society holds a large collection of oral histories entitled “Montanans at Work” which documents the different jobs Montanans held from 1910-1955. These oral histories were originally recorded on era-accurate tapes. After 30 years, the tapes began to deteriorate, which meant it was time to digitize the collection. The Montana Historical Society used MHF funds to digitize part of the “Montanans at Work” collection. The digital recordings helped bring the history to more people as it was made accessible online.
