Upper Musselshell Historical Society

The railroads that transected Central Montana were the backbone of communities on the plains. Railroads like the Montana Railroad, the Milwaukee Road and the Montana Rail Link provided supplies for growth of the region. Artifacts from the golden age of these railroads were donated to the Upper Musselshell Historic Society for a new collection. However, shortfalls in staffing made it difficult to organize the collection.

Using MHF funds, the Upper Musselshell Historic Society finished cataloging approximately 2,500 donated items. After being catalogued, the items were placed into the museum for the public to view and research.
