Montana History Foundation Opens 2016 Grant Process

The Montana History Foundation (MHF) announces grant funds are available to protect the historic legacy of communities across the state. The grants are available to organizations that want to preserve historical assets of importance to Montana’s history. Project funds are in the categories of buildings/structures, oral histories, collections/artifacts, cemeteries/sacred sites, and education/outreach. Grant criteria is available on the MHF website at www.mthistory.org. Grants will be awarded ranging in scale from $500.00 to $5,000.00. Applications will be accepted between November 16, 2015 and January 22, 2016.Since the program’s inception four years ago, MHF has granted over $346,000.00 to 46 communities across Montana. MHF is able to offer this funding thanks to the support of numerous donors. Individuals who are passionate about preserving local history may donate to the grant program to ensure continued success by reaching out to MHF at www.mthistory.org.
