North Central Montana Retired Educators Association – Zion School Restoration

The Zion Schoo, which is over 100 years old, was included in the recent Montana Preservation Alliance School Survey project and is an exquisite example of a homestead era one-room school. The school is complete with historic teacher and student desks, a blackboard, pull down/stand up maps, books, teacher’s bell, ink wells, various teaching aides, and a pot-bellied stove.

The History Foundation funded the North Central Montana Retired Educators Association to repair sills, address wear of the vestibule to classroom floor, add runners for that area, and paint the interior and exterior.
