The Stage Is In was created by Helena artist Bob Morgan to raise funds for the purchase of Virginia and Nevada Cities by the state of Montana in 1997 and current sales continue to fund preservation efforts at the two cities.

Virginia and Nevada Cities are of great significance to the history of the West—with Virginia City being one of the best preserved Western territorial town sites in the nation and Nevada City being an outdoor living museum with over 70 historic buildings, many open to the public.

The Stage Is In was created by Helena artist Bob Morgan to raise funds for the purchase of Virginia and Nevada Cities by the state of Montana in 1997 and current sales continue to fund preservation efforts at the two cities.

About the Artist:

Robert F. Morgan was a fourth generation Montanan and lifelong resident of the Helena area. He was one of the founding members of the Western Rendezvous of Art. He originated the popular “Quick Draw” event. Bob was one of only two artists whose work was selected for every C.M. Russell Auction for the past 32 years. He had more than 20 year’s history with the Montana Historical Society, including exhibit designer, Curator, and one year as acting director. The many awards he received included the Governor’s Award for the Arts, the Bob Scriver Award, the Trustees Award from the Montana Historical Society, and the Community Service Award from Carroll College. His works are deeply-seated in local and Western history.
