USDA Forest Service: Lolo National Forest – Swamp Creek Archaeological Excavation

The USDA Forest Service will archaeologically excavate a culturally significant site in the Lolo National Forest near the confluence of Swamp Creek and the Clark Fork River. The project expects to unearth stone tools and other artifacts associated with tribal nations. The USDA Forest Service will submit a report to the State Historic Preservation Office and the Tribal Preservation Department of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes.
