‘The Best Gift: Montana’s Carnegie Libraries’ Lecture with Author Kate Hampton
Registration for this event is now closed.
The Best Gift: Montana’s Carnegie Libraries profiles each of Montana’s 17 Carnegie libraries. Built between 1901 and 1922, Andrew Carnegie, the era’s richest man, provided funding to help communities build their libraries. Today, fifteen of those libraries are still standing. Nine still serve their communities as libraries.
Join author Kate Hampton for this online lecture in which she’ll share more of Andrew Carnegie’s background and how his library program came to be, along with additional stories on those who played an instrumental role in making some of Montana’s libraries a reality.
