Frequently Asked Questions

How can I support the Montana History Foundation?

It’s easy! You can donate $5 or $5,000 right now by clicking here or you can contact our President/CEO Charlene Porsild to discuss how to make a bequest or another tax-friendly planned gift.

How is MHF different from the Montana Historical Society?

The Montana History Foundation is an independent private 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that raises money and funds historical projects across the state. We partner with and make grants to many organizations including the Montana Historical Society, which is an agency of state government. The Montana Historical Society houses the State Museum, State Archives, Historical Research Center, State Historic Preservation Office, and a variety of other programs.
